From the main ChatLab administration page, select Chatbots in the main menu, click on selected chatbot, select Settings tab and select Appearance in the left menu
Customisation options
- Avatar: The avatar is the picture that the customer will see while interacting with your chatbot.
- Header colorc: You can change the color of your chatbot’s:
- Background
- Chatbot name
- Chatbot tagline
- Message colors: You can change the color of your chatbot’s:
- User background
- User text
- Resp. background
- Response text
- Suggested questions colors: you can change the colors of the “Suggested questions” buttons
- Chat icon: Here, you can change the Launcher icon color and select custom opening/closing chat icons
- Other appearance settings
- Stack suggested questions - when enabled your suggested questions will stack up without the scrollbar like that:
- Message font size - change the size of the font of messages and the input message
- Suggested questions font size - change the size of the font of suggested questions
- Shadow around chatbot container - enable/disable shadow around the widget and iframe
- Show welcome message in bubble: This helps your customers locate the chat by displaying the welcome message in a bubble above the chat launcher icon (doesn’t work in iframe mode or when Automatically open chat widget after it is loaded is allowed). If you have multiple welcome messages, they will be shown one below another. The bubbles will show up 3 seconds after the page is loaded.

- Chat widget position on screen: Set your widget on the left or right side of the screen.
- Chat widget position on screen: In order to avoid the widget overlapping with other website components, you can sligthly move it up or down (doesn’t work on mobiles).
- Move launcher icon left/right by: For “left” chat alignment, chat is on the left side of the screen and you can move it X pixels away from the left screen edge. For “right” side - you can change the distance from the right side of the screen.
- Auto open chat widget after page load
- Auto open on mobiles: The chatbot will startup with expanded chat box as if chat icon was clicked - only on mobiles
- Auto open on screens larger than mobiles: The chatbot will startup with expanded chat box as if chat icon was clicked - only on devices other than mobiles
- Open chat with delay/ delay by x seconds: the widget will be open with provided delay
- Custom chat footer: you can set custom text displayed at the bottom of the chat widget. You can use markdown to insert links. The most common usage is to place link to your terms or to your privacy policy. Sample text to insert with the markdown link:
When this is disabled, you will see a scroll bar:
